How does it work?

Grab an apron, pick your piece, wash your hands then wash your piece lightly. We will walk you through the rest. No, we will hand the glazes to you do that we can guarantee you get the right color and we keep the studio in order. You can keep the glazes at your seat while using them. Please pour only what is needed into your plastic cup. If you pour excess, we will pour it back into the container when we clean up.

Are pieces oven safe?

No. Please do not put your pieces in the microwave, dishwasher or oven.

What happens if my piece is broken?

If the piece is broken due to any fault of our crafters, we do need to still collect payment for the piece in full. We ask crafters to please visually inspect all completed pieces upon pick up and before leaving the studio. We will not be held liable for damages notice or incurred after the piece leaves our studio. Furthermore, if we happen to damage your piece during our firing process, guests will be offered options based on the severity of the damage.

Can I snack while working?

It is not suggested that you eat while painting your piece. However a minimum of 2-3 coats are required for each piece and guests can enjoy a selection of snacks while they wait for each layer to dry. Wash up! Greasy fingers can damage the results of your work.

What do I do when I'm done?

NOTHING! Your job is to come and have fun, paint and enjoy our studio. When you are done just walk away from your mess, check out, hang up your apron and leave. We will do ALL CLEAN UP. We have specific ways that we like to put thing away and clean items anyways so....do us a favor and leave your mess as is. :)

What if I can't pick up my finished piece right away?

We will hold unfinished pieces for 4 months. After 4 months we will dispose of the piece and customer will not be refunded.

What if I found a piece I want you to offer?

We do our best to offer a nice variety. We place orders on a quarterly basis so that we can combine items and save on our shipping costs. We'd be happy to add your request to our list and try to find it but we cannot guarantee that our suppliers will carry it or that it will be in stock.

Do you do parties?

Yes, we do! We charge a flat $50 plus the price of your pottery piece. This includes two hours of studio time. If you need additional time there will be an additional charge. There is no minimum number of guests required but there is a max of 35 guests allowed.

Do you hold pieces for guests?

We will hold pottery pieces without an upfront payment for 10 days. We will hold pieces that have been paid for up to 60 days. Upon the 60 days, we will return the piece to our inventory and guests will not be refunded.

Do you offer on-site paint your own pottery?

YES! We can offer pottery on the go. Please email us for information at craftersoncentral@gmail.com.

Can I bring in an outside piece to fire?

No. We will only fire pieces that are purchased in and kept within our studio. Guests who leave with a piece may not bring it back to be fired.

When can i get my finished piece?

We will provide guests (that complete their project) with a pick up date during their studio session. Typically this is within 7-10 days. We ask that items kindly be picked up within 30 days after being ready. Pick ups can be done any time that our studio is open (please refer to our Google business page for hours) or by calling/emailing us to make arrangements. We do our best to accommodate our crafters.

Can I come any time?

No, we have designated hours for guests to register to paint pottery. RSVP's will guarantee you a seat in the studio. RSVPing is very simple and no payment is required. Please visit our Classes Calendar for the upcoming Paint Your Own Pottery Event and click it to register.

Do you have wheel form pottery making classes?

No. We are strictly a paint your own pottery studio. We suggest crafters to check out the Crystal Falls Contemporary Center for additional options pertaining to these items.

How much does it cost?

Our prices vary by the piece that you select. They all range from $8 and up. All prices are marked on the bottom of each piece and include the piece, glaze, studio time, dipping, firing and packaging of each item. If a piece is unmarked please let us know and we an look up the price.

Guests who do not complete their project are invited to return at no additional charge up to 4 times. Any additional sessions will be charged a flat $5 per session.

What is the firing process you use?

We fire all pieces at a Cone 06. On average our kiln heats up to 1800+ degrees.

After completing a project we leave your piece to dry completely. This can take 1-2 days. We then dip all pieces in our clear glaze. Each piece then needs to dry for another 1-2 days. Once we put it in the kiln it will fire for nearly 12 hours and take equally long to cool down. After they come out, we sand down any indents left on the bottom from the kiln stilts, package, label and get them ready for guests to pick up.

Can I keep my piece outdoors?

Most pottery pieces can be enjoyed outdoors but should not be kept out in winter or in extreme weather conditions. We assume no liability for any ceramic pieces once they have left our studio.

What glazes do you have?

Each glaze and piece is unique. Please inquire within for further details/instructions about this.
